GC Training
Training for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiving
Dementia is one of the most important health issues we face as our population ages.
In 2020, as many as 5.8 million Americans were living with Alzheimer’s disease. Younger people may get Alzheimer’s disease, but it is less common. The number of people living with the disease doubles every 5 years beyond age 65. This number is projected to nearly triple to 14 million people by 2060.
As a result, health and social care services in particular will spend more time caring for people with dementia, many with complex needs. But with a better understanding of treatment and care, there is more scope to make real improvements in the quality of life for people who are affected.
GC Training provides high quality training about dementia, care and aspects of old age mental health for:
- Health and social care professionals
- Care home managers and their care staff
- Voluntary sector organizations
Welcome to the Dementia Training Center
While our courses are face-to-face, we realize that with stretched resources and work schedules, making time for training can be challenging. That is why we also want to acknowledge the work of Nevvon, a Canadian-based company serving Canada and the USA with Alzheimer’s / Dementia care giver online training.
